Anyone else in summer school?

I am signed up for summer school but for me it doesn't start until June 20th. Tomorrow is our last day and final (which I am supposed to be studying for now instead of trolling the boards ) We were told that there needed to be 30 people in the Psych summer class because our class is so big, they can't fit all of us into psych clinical in the fall! So we were under the impression that we were getting the sweeter end of the deal for fall if we took it in the summer. We were told we would get 5 weeks off of clinical! But today they came in to talk to us and we found out we had been screwed! If we were taking psych in the summer, we were going to have to have evening clinicals in the fall (1230-830pm). My Psych teacher didn't know anything about it and the new teachers didn't know we had not been told! We are a morning class and most of us had signed up for the morning class/clinical that was listed in the registration catalog for fall. Our teachers said that's how it has to be! Ugh, they didn't tell us until it was too late to switch! Needless to say we are extremely peeved and will be seeing the Director of the program here shortly. Okay enough about my whining! I love how organized the Nursing Division is :angryfire

Nope, not this year, but I too had the same sort of thing in my junior year. Couldn't wait for X-mas break to arrive... It's part of the separating the wheat from the chaf, the big dogs from the little dogs, etc.

We had finals for second semester on May 10, and since school for summer starts up on May 31, which is a tuesday. We are off till first monday in June , which our Pharmacology class meets on Mondays. No such thing as a free summer off. They have us take it between first and second year of an AND program. And like above, we will get a few weeks off before Fall starts up. Funny how things like a few weeks break makes us happy. And hey, a few weeks is a few weeks.

We had ob during the summer when I was an ADN. It was a relentless pace.

15 years later I'm taking Stats. followed by nursing research this summer, but at least there was a 10 day break there.

My first semester of nursing was done at the end of April. Finished off with clinicals, which were exciting and I really liked them. Now we get a break till June 26 when we start Adult client I and OB. It will be over in Agust, maybe around the 10th. Not sure without looking at my schedule. Then we are off till the Fall semester starts at the end of August. Right now I am taking Microbiology for the May interim. 4 nights a week for 2

1/2 hours. I am really looking forward to summer nursing classes to start again. Good luck to you all and I really enjoy this board.

YEP!!! I start back on the 7th of June so I have about 3 weeks off, which really screws up my schedule and pace (you get used to the rush after a full semester and so do the kids). I start with Practicum, a full 5 weeks of nothing but clinicals and then Trends which is totally in class.

Really hoping to have the last baby potty trained in these three weeks *crosses fingers*

Congrats on getting through the first semester!!! I just finished mine as well. I am taking 2-2credit courses in the first summer 6-week term. We only had a few days off between the two terms, and I spent most of that time sleeping, and reading the chapters they gave us for preperation. Now when this is over, we were given chapters to read for fall semester. Thankfuly, I will have July and August to relax and just work on them. Oh yeah, and my full time job. LOL It will be a nice vacation!

I have Bioethics and a religion class this summer. Next summer will be a 6-wk Psych rotation.

Either way, the good part is we're out by the 4th of July. Fall semester doesn't start until mid- to late-September, so we get a good break.

My last final was the beginning of May

May 31st I start my 1st summer session, Speech It ends June 30th.

July 5th I start my 2nd summer session, Art Apreciation. It ends Aug 5th...

Then I get about a month off before Nursing School really starts!

I just passed my first semester! I'm so relieved. However, as much as I would like to lay back and enjoy the victory, we just started summer school literally 5 days after my last final exam. My fundamentals final was last Thursday and we started summer school yesterday, then clinicals start back next Thursday. I'm ticked we couldn't at least get a full week to recover...I spent the entire little "break" doing laundry, cleaning my apartment and car and had to work. All I feel like doing is sleeping and laying on my couch watching bad tv. Oh well...this is what I signed up for right? I just have to suck it up and hopefully not lose any momentum. I was wondering if anybody else had to go to summer school this year and what kind of break everyone is getting. We do get about 3 weeks between summer and fall...which still isn't that impressive but hey it's something right? :) Hope everybody did well this past semester and for those of you right there with me for the summer good luck and hang in there! It'll all be worth it.

im in summer school too, so no beach for me!!! my classes started on May 16th and are about 12 weeks long but after 6 weeks we get a week break!! than on to fall semester (week break between those two as well), we go year round though the whole program is 15 months from start to finish so we have to:( but hey its what i signed up for too lol!

Wow reading all this I feel really lazy. We're off the first week of June until the 3rd week of September... On one hand it'll be a great break, on the other I'm afraid I'm going to forget everything I've learned so far...

I'm going to school this summer. Summer quarter begins on June 20th, a week after Spring term ends. One of my classes is 4 weeks long (M-Th from 2-4:30) and the other class is 6 weeks (M-Th 5-6:15) with a lab from 6:30-10:15 two nights a week. The lab portion ends after 5 weeks. I'll be busy!

Fall term begins mid-to-late September.
