Also, is it just me, or have you guys noticed a trend in the people who don't seem to get the "anonymous" side of AN? A lot of new folk with avatar pictures I'm 99% sure are of themselves (unless it's some celebrity I've literally never seen before, which is possible). I mean, I get that social media generally encourages that - and, indeed, my personal social media pages are me. But the point of AN is to be able to vent...and it is in the TOS and all, but I doubt too many people read those on any site.

I suspect that the full names and selfie avatars are something that folks will eventually see the wisdom of NOT using . . . but they came with the paid writers. Another thing that has changed the character of AN.

I've definitely considered writing for the site and if I can get paid for it, so much the better, but I still don't ever plan to put a picture of myself up. True, though, paying for generated content does tend to change the flavor of a site. I can see both sides, as I recently left a writing gig because it wasn't paid yet they made constant demands for articles to be churned out to generate traffic. IMHO, though, the articles I find myself enjoying the most are written by long-time site members and it's just one thing they do among other discussions here.

Well, I have one year of experience and I am also a formerly stale new grad. I feel like this forum is reflecting what is going on in my current workplace. I have oriented 3 nurses in the past 3 months. One of them stayed for three months and then put in her two weeks notice. Another has been there 2 weeks and is already looking for greener grass. The last one stuck his badge and a written notice in our manager's mailbox at work.

Then there's jaded ol' me, sipping on a protein shake and watching/listening to it all...much like I do here.

I do tend to drift. I understand that, and it's not my board, so I have to Obey.

The problem is, I thought it was OUR board.

I recently learned that it is not.

And NOC in LTC also bonds well together but you can't find them so easily in one place. (The 2 groups kind of have quite a few similarities.

I do have a suggestion for admin - have a forum for 'nsg as a second career group'. They have unique issues.

Yes, please on the nursing as a second career, and I will have to check out the LTC-NOC group. NOC isn't my shift, but I love my NOC nurse! Seeing her in the morning often makes my day start out right.

I usually just post in travel or or forums. I stopped cominh in the general forum for the same reasons listed in this thread. Im too sarcastic for pre-pre-pre nursing program students to get... I take long breaks from posting though since I snowboard 6 months of the year and forget about nursing/work.
