Crowds in Philly have have been smaller due to MORE rallys in the burbs 8 in DELCO alone...Parking at Independence Hall area, lots of cars unloading families with young children while subway riders started at City Hall.  Reports 250,00+ attended.

Millions have easy access to that area by train and a subway.

You say 250,000 were there.

In one if your articles, one of the organizers says 100,000.

It was more like 15,000.

LOL...no

I drove 500 miles yesterday.  Saw two cars decorated with No Kings nonsense.  And, other then that, wouldn't have known anything was happening.

Agree "country continues to be awakened liked 1776" is a bit much to describe what is happening.  I've been laying low and was a way from the protests and saw no cars decorated and heard no talk about it at work or the gym.

That being said those that went reported energetic and enthusiastic and large crowds.  Being there gave them all kinds of feels.

We can quibble over the numbers, whether we are "losing our democracy", who cares and what good it will do but at the end of the day hundreds of thousands of people showed up around the country.  Even here in the little (but very liberal) community of Gulfport there was a large crowd and St. Pete was hard to judge apparently because it was scattered over several intersections over a mile or so.

It apparently gave someone the feels as well with the video of Trump wearing a crown driving a plane dropping poop on the protestors.

But for now it's come and gone.  Trump is still the President and the government is still shut down.

Going by the organizer's estimate, nationwide about 4% of the voting population turned out.

Nothing but a overhyped by the media social gathering that gave some the "feels".

Even for you that's a pretty ugly dismissal of the events.

Yes it was overhyped.  I have no feelings about it because I wasn't there, but I definitely got some "feels" from the first one I attended as did some of the people I know that went to this one.  But if it makes you feel better that all these hundreds of thousands of voters were having a social gathering so be it.  Obviously it's being mocked by the right.

For a social gathering that was overhyped by the media the Speaker continued his attempts at discrediting them by showing violent signs the protestors had, which of course doesn't compare to the satire Trump used of his dropping *** on Americans.

Even for me, huh?  What does that mean?  And, I'm not sure why my dismissal is "ugly".

The Speaker didn't discredit them.  They do that with their own words and actions.  Signs, costumes, words, etc.

But, in the end if it gave them a good feeling to all get together to celebrate their shared hatred of our president,  no harm done to me.

I just now watched the Trump video.  Pretty disgusting and not funny.

I heard that nationwide attendance was estimated to be 7 million. Plus, there were rallies around the world. Peaceful rallies. Police did arrest an Alabaman woman for  lewd behavior who was wearing an inflatable penis.

The rally I attended was about 10,000 people in town with 100,000 population. The atmosphere was a feeling of fellowship and hope. There were frogs, unicorns, T. rex and lots of funny signs.

Nothing wrong with "feels". Isn't that why trump supporters went to his rallies?

Some, including two people here claim this was going to start or be comparable to the American Revolution.  That's why it's being mocked.  And furry-fetish and other costumes just lent it to more mockery.

So, in comparison to a revolution or anything else significant, it was just a social gathering.

No further comments from me.  We've said what we've said.

10,000 according to who?

I also heard 7 million nationwide (about 4% of the voting population as I said above).   And I've heard 1 million.   I doubt we'll ever see anything to support the higher number.

Anyway, I'm glad you all got to get together and dress up as unicorns and commiserate your dislike of Trump.  Sounds like a wonderful day.

If you were traveling on major highways, might not have seen those rallies held in Colorado town centers.

How many more Americans would have come out if todays tearing down of sections of White House East Wing occurred last week?  Clearly heard Pres. Trump say during press conference that construction of the $250 million addition wouldn't "interfere with the existing building".

Can Trump Make Major Changes To The White House?

It's unclear, but probably. Presidents have generally been allowed to make cosmetic changes to residential areas, and they receive a $100,000 budget for redecorating, but no recent president has tried to make a change on the scale of the one Trump announced. The White House has been renovated and added to before—a second story was added in the 1930s and the East Wing built in1942, for example—but the White House as a building was designated a historic site in 1960. As a National Heritage Site/National Historic Landmark in the care of the National Park Service, "extensive regulations would govern attempts to institute any significant changes,” according to the White House Historical Association. The National Register of Historic Places code of regulations says federal agencies wishing to start a project on landmark property must provide the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation a reasonable opportunity to comment, but then "may adopt any course of action it believes is appropriate." The National Park Service website also implies that rule only applies when federal funds are being used, and the Trump administration has said it will raise private money for the project.

...The White House has yet to name the donors. But on September 19, 2025, CBS News reported that multiple companies have already pledged to donate $5 million or more to the project:

Google, R.J. Reynolds, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, Palantir and NextEra Energy have donated, and so have firms in the tech, manufacturing, banking and health industries, sources told CBS News.

Lockheed Martin is among the companies that have pledged more than $10 million, according to one of the sources

People come and gone from the rallys.  I drove through two of the cities above.  I spent 11 hours out and about driving, at a restaurant, gas station, Starbucks, etc.

If the "country continues to be awakened like in 1776", it seems I would have been inundated with things that would make me aware something was going on.

I don't go to many Broncos games, but know when a game is going on.  Even when they're across the country beating up the Eagles.

Where are they getting these numbers from?  The organizers, right?

I love how one article above gives a paragraph long quote from an 8 year old. LOL
