It has been looked into. The studies that the FDA and HHS looked at have already been done. They reviewed previously done research, and gave equal weight to reliable and questionable studies.

I believe all expectant parents are advised to avoid unnecessary meds, but fevers are dangerous, too. Of course, not all pregnant people have access to health care, so they may not get this advice.

As for vaccines, they are the most studied pharmaceutical product used. They are studied before and after market product. The president is fear-mongering about a subject he knows next to nothing about. I'll take my vaccine advice from experts, not an addled, bankrupted, elderly felonious golfer.

I realize there have already been studies which is why I said there is a "link". Pregnant women also listened to the "experts" and took thalidomide and we know the horrible outcomes from the side effects of that medication. Of course pregnant women are told to avoid unnecessary medications already but not this specific one. Not sure who is doing/funding all  these studies on vaccines but I don't see the harm in having another set of (fresh) eyes on the situation. Isn't this how science is supposed to work, ever evolving when new information comes into play or just researching a problem (like so many kids with autism). Not sure how fear mongering comes into play from a warning, we (nurses) warn people about all kinds of things including SE/possible SE of medications. I don't think that Trump came up with this all by himself LOL and I am glad they are looking at possible reasons for the rise in Autism cases among children.

Generating fear when the experts have studied the claim and informed you that there is no connection is, indeed, fear mongering.  No, Trump didn't come up with this, Kennedy came up with it.  Kennedy had a long history of making claims about autism that are disconnected from the actual science and research. It's weird that health professionals would be so easily swayed.

CDC used to monitor post vaccine effects via VAERS and reaching out to vaccine recipients , but I don't know if that has changed with the current administration. Sure, research is great, but in case you didn't hear, funding has been slashed.

Oh yeah, we teach about side effects. We also teach about what happens if you decline  vaccines: pneumonia, meningitis, blindness, liver cancer, paralysis, death.

Entertainers should be fired for not entertaining. Suddenly Kimmel is doing a bad job? What does the FCC have to do with how entertainers entertain? If entertainers are that bad then they get dropped by their networks, not fired by dictatorial (sorry, presidential) whim. Entertainers are supposed to go off rail occasionally because that is the whole idea of entertainment - find new things to do.

Isn't it strange that these comedians weren't a problem until they started criticizing Trump. The bosses only pulled his show when they were suddenly presented with ultimatums from FCC and others that would interfere with mergers etc. That is censorship.

Apparently it wasn't censorship, was it?

Our president boasted to the world that he is "really good at this stuff" and then he told the UN members that all of their countries were going to hell. Trump is really good at inappropriate and insulting rhetoric.

How embarrassing.

How about a link to what you're talking about.  I am reading that he criticized our allies.

Below is what he said.  Sounds a bit different with some context.

"When your prisons are filled with so-called asylum-seekers ... it's time to end the failed experiment of open borders,” Trump said. "You have to end it now. I can tell you. I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell.”

I assume you're talking about Kimmel's show being re-instated? I suspect that the decision to bring it back had more to do with the experience of Target and Kimmel's actual contract, than any principled opposition to censorship.

And, yes ... it was censorship.

Then, what happened to the ultimatums and threats from the FCC and Trump administration?

Here's just a clip.

How would I know? Ask Disney and abc, it was their judgement call. Ask a lawyer. There was potential for lawsuits over the civil rights violation and breach of contract. Trump et al do not have an impressive track record anywhere below the Supreme Court level. Maybe that was a factor.
