Harrison Medical Center RN residency 2014

U.S.A. Washington

Anyone know what the interview process is like at Harrison Medical Center? Do they still have the essay portion before the start of the interview and what questions to be expected particularly ED? I've been reading good and bad things about the management of the hospital, any insights would be helpful and appreciated. Good luck to all those in the running!

Just finished my interview. Don't stress about the essay question its just why you want to work there. Focus on behavioral and clinical scenarios. I've had over 8 interviews so far while looking and this was definitely the most detailed, in depth, longest interview I've had so far. ugh! Good luck everyone! Make sure you're really prepared and have researched the organization.

Thank you so much for all the information! How long is the essay supposed to be?

With the interview being 1.5 to 2 hours long, I feel it definitely will be very long and detailed. Congrats on finishing your interview!

Were the clinical scenario questions very specific? Was it like they give you a case study and you have to respond with what inteventions you would do? Or was it more like, "name a clinical situation when..."

It's great to know it's behavioral and clinical questions. Did you feel there were more clinical questions than behavioral?

Sorry for all my questions lol. I superrr appreciate that you shared this information!!

No idea about the essay, they give you an entire page to hand write.

Definitely more behavioral questions. I think I had only 3-4 specific clinical questions and yes, they are very specific. They give you a document with paragraphs about a situation and have about three questions pertaining to each.

I found this document a while ago and it has really helped me with interviews. Practice all of the questions in there and you should be good.

Which unit are you interviewing for?

GOOD LUCK! :)

Thanks so much for all the information, socal529!!

I'm interviewing for the Emergency Department.

I'm glad to know the clinical questions were more specific. Did you feel the clinical questions were really related to the ICU? I feel good about behavioral questions, but for clinical questions it could be almost about anything.

Would you be able to give any advice about what things I should focus on for the clinical questions? Feel free to PM me too!

Thank you!!

Oh wow thank you for the information!! I really appreciate it. Do you think the clinical questions are more related to your specific unit? Or are they pretty general and pertain to every unit. And yes, any additional information is greatly appreciated! Thank you for all your help!!

Has anyone heard from them after the interview? They called all candidates last night supposedly?

I got a call last night but it went to voice mail. I have heard they call you either way with a rejection or offer though. I haven't heard back yet.

EDIT: I just got a call now around 5pm PST again letting me know I didn't get the position. So they seem like they call you either way. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!

Hi everyone,
