pre-entrance exam at UDC for LPN program

U.S.A. Washington DC

Has anybody here taken that exam at udc? I've asked them (the secretary who answers the phone)numerous times, but I guess they simply don't know the answer to teh question- but the question is which type of exam is administered- is it the NET, TEAS, NLN, or PSB?

What the secretary did tell me is that there's basic math, reading and science on it so i bout the LPN/LVN PRE-entrance exam study guide by NLN which features a math, reading and review of basic sciences- a&p, chemistry, biology.

I'm taking the test THIS friday so I'm a bit nervous considering I didn't have much time to review- but i plan on taking this test twice, so hopefully if i do not pass this time, I'll at least be better prepared for next time.

Thanks for any help I may receive!!

took the test on Friday. I'm pretty confident that i did great :)

For those of you who'd like to know:

the test consisted of 4 parts

Part 1- ENGLISH- 75 questions, 30min to complete- this section consisted of ONLY SYNONYMS (hope i spelled that right)

Part 2-Mathematics- 60 questions, 55min to complete

Part 3- Science- basic biology & and some a&p-75 questions, 30min to complete

Part 4- Reading Comprehension- 45 questions, 45 minutes to complete.

I suggest you purchase the LPN/LVN Pre-entrance Exam book put out ny the NLN by McDonald (i believe). I bought that and found it extremely helpful for the test. Good luck to all!

Hi. You should contact the nursing department directly for advising. Don't guess. You can do this far in advance so you feel confident about your plan.

Also, let's be clear that you are asking about the LPN program and not their RN program. The RN program has academic prerequisites. However, for the LPN program -- I think you just have to have a high school education or GRE. So I am not sure which prereqs you meant.

If you meant the other items of their admissions checklist, such as security clearance, medical, etc -- then I would recommend that you get the entrance exam out of the way first. I knew the moment I took it that I would do well and immediately proceeded to get my letters of recommendation, etc. But if you are uncertain about whether you will score high, you should wait for your scores before investing in anything else, such as paying for a CPR class.

By the way, I learned the hard way that the CPR class must be taught by someone qualified as an American Heart Association instructor. I paid for a Red Cross professional rescuer class and had to get a refund because Red Cross certification is not accepted by UDC.

When I said GRE above, that was a typo. I meant "GED".

Please, how many hours will the exam take?and what happens if I were unable to finish the questions at the appropriate time?

Hello. I am considering this program (currently take prereqs for PGCC nursing program) and plan to take the entrance exam on 9/14. Anyways, is anyone currently in the program or have graduated? If so-how will you rate the LPN program?

Thanks for your help.
