Nursing Student in Distress

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

I've been in the medical field for over 20+ years, recently decided to return to school to obtained my RN. Spouse finally retired from Military, children are on their way to leaving the nest egg, what better time, plus I was awarded a full-scholarship for a 2 year program. I recently worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at several Military installations, Tramua Unit, and Family Practice setting. My first class for this semester has been Microbiology with A&P combined. Oh my GOD! So overwelming.

So many of my fellow co-workers, Doctors, Nurses, Medical Receptionist that I worked with in the pass, encourage me to continue my education to become a nurse. There were nurses that I worked with that really didn't know my education background, thought that I was already a RN. "Work ethic beyond that of a Medical Assistant. " I was told.

Somedays I have second thoughts on is this truly wha I want, is this all worth it in the end. Somedays I can really vison me going across the stage in my :mortarboard: being awarded my BSN. Some one please talk to me. Is this normal?

kudos to you!!!!! hang in there, reach for your dream

best wishes

RNnprogress....Good for you for choosing nursing. You are absolutely NOT alone in your feelings, just do a search and you'll see that there are literally thousands of students who feel EXACTLY the way you do!!!!

Don't despair, do your best and learn all you can.

You asked if it was rewarding?? Knowing that you made a difference in the life of someone else?? Is there anything more rewarding than that??

Best of luck!!!
