Hi everyone,

I just found out about this program and had an advisor call me today (which was really impressive) and tell me about it. According to her, as long as you meet the requirements to enter the program, you're in and there is no limit on spots. This sounds funny to me because I've never heard about a nursing program who didn't have limits or an average gpa and hesi score. Maybe because it's a fast track online program. Has anybody gone through it and can tell me more about it? Like the amount of people who actually get in and perhaps the gap and hesi scores?

The intent of the program is to hve you do clinicals locally.

It's probably the most convenenient program there is for taking prerequisites. You can take prerequisites from them and go to nursing school somewhere else.

yes!!! the ut arlington academic partnership bsn program is wonderful!!!!! i just graduated from their program december 2010 and i am currently enrolled in their msn program as well. i would recommend it to all!!!!

Does anybody know if you can be a new ADN grad to enter the RN to BSN program at UT Arlington. I heard that they want you to have worked at least a year before you can enter. Is this true? UT Arlington is going to be my finishing school for my BSN and ultimately my MSN. How did you guys do it?

yes!!! the ut arlington academic partnership bsn program is wonderful!!!!! i just graduated from their program december 2010 and i am currently enrolled in their msn program as well. i would recommend it to all!!!

were you in the rn to bsn program for already licensed nurses or were you in the bsn program for people who want to become nurses?

as far as the bsn program for people who aren't nurses is concerned, it depends on the partner hospital as to what the quality of the educational experience will be. in this 15 month program, the partner hospital is financially responsible for providing and equipping a clinical lab with patient simulators. the clinical instructors are contractors hired by uta. results can vary from partner hospital to partner hospital. it isn't like being a student attending class in person in arlington.

I am seeing a lot f different things from this site as well and a lot of information is incorrect according to what the guy over the phone told me when asking about the program. AnonEmos had a lot of good information but one thing I want to add that I was told by the school is, the partnership hospital help you better your chance of getting into the program over those who are not partnered. You still do your clinicals at hospitals around the arlington/dfw area. For example, my hospital is partnered, and it's two hours away from dfw, but I can't do clinicals there. So the school will place me at a site in the dfw area that's partnered and has enough room for students. The guy I talked to said some hospitals accept 40-50 students so which ever hospital has room is where they will squeeze us overflow students in at. I am meeting with an advisor in person tomorrow so hopefully I will get the rest of my questions answered.

So I met with the advisor and she wasn't very helpful. Kind of just looked at me waiting for me to ask questions instead of just trying to provide me with information. I asked about the partnership thing again and she said no you do clinicals at the hospital you are partnered at, but I really doubt she knew what she was talking about. Ugh, I just want to be done with school already!

She was essentially correct in stating that you will do clinicals at the hospital you are partnered with. This may be a group of hospitals since a single hospital may not provide enough exposure to the subject material you are on at the time. If you are not partnered, you will be assigned to a group in your area. You don't really have much control of which group you are assigned unpartnered or which days your clinicals are on.

Clinicals are twice a week 8 to 12 hours per day. You may or may not go to each available day during the semester.

Make sure you do really well on your science classes and prenursing classes, the competition is fierce.

Maybe because online there are like 300 students/ seats per class when all seats are filled in a given section
