Is this right for me! Looking for guidance

I really need some help and guidance! I have finally enrolled in my first online course at UTA! I'm currently taking sociology 1311, one of five pre refs that I need to complete. I hate that it takes me approximately 10 hours per week. Is this normal? I am really thinking that this isn't for me, but don't want to quit so easily! I am looking for all and any feedback!

If you think 10 hours is bad, wait until you start taking the nursing classes in earnest.

Seriously, this program--or most RN-BSN programs regardless of their school--is more than, "hi, glad you registered for the class, here's your A, see you soon." The classes, even the "fluff" ones, will take a level of work and effort on your part. And--in my experience--it's been the non-nursing pre-reqs that have been the worst. Wait until you take HIST 1311 and 1312.

At least with the online option when you can put that effort in is up to your schedule, but that effort will still need to be put in nonetheless.

I think once you start taking more classes, you'll find that it's not going to be as bad as you think. Give yourself a chance to get used to being in school.

Totally agree with the above comment. I think the easiest class I have taken so far required 5-6 hours of work...one ASSIGNMENT in vulnerable populations took me roughly 25 hours...and that was just part of what was due for the week. That being said, with working 50 hours a week I can double or triple up...but I have no kids and a night pedi home health job that allows me time to work on my assignments while my patient is sleeping...keep all this in mind. It is work.
