Hi everyone,

I have been a lpn since the late 80's! I only ever worked agency assignments except for my last job which was HCA in a corporate enviroment. I have returned to school and will graduate in May with my RN. I have not worked in several years to raise a family!

I am not interested in going on staff here locally in Kentucky for many reasons and would like to travel immediately. I have not worked in the acute care setting for sometime all though I have done it all for many years. Any suggestions how I can speed up my time to be able to sign on, or will someone work with me as a new grad.....This girl is ready to get out of Kentucky...Thanks for any advice....I would really also like critical care or ER....

I, too, am interested in traveling and have done a lot of inquiring. Mostly what I come up with is, "at least" one year of experience preferably in your specialty. Also, if you would like to be in touch with the traveling scene, go to the Health Care Traveler's website, www.healthcaretraveler.com and either read the information there or, if you prefer, you may sign up for a free magazine subscription; the magazine itself is very nicely done and is loaded with tips, articles and advice.
