Ok, I've got my first assignment. In the area that I wanted. Pay seems ok considering the area. Took subsidy, I'll be fairly close to home. Now that I'm getting ready to take the plunge, I have read so many different posts that make me wonder if I have made the right decision. I need to make a decent income for my family. I get really discouraged when I read that the income just isn't there. I worked agency in CO and while the pay was ok I did get cancelled all the time. Agency here in KY in the area I live, is just not there (unless you want to work for HCA). OK, I need to hear so feedback, the good, the bad and the ugly. My assignment is ER, no low census there like on the floors. Nighshift, not my favorite but I can deal. Went with RNNetwork, research showed it to be more positive than negative. Have contact with more than one agency an case the bottom falls out. What haven't I done or what should I do next. HELP!!!:bluecry1:

You have much more experience under your belt than me, but I felt the exact same way with my first assignment. It was scary that I had signed a hard core contract and that I would be stuck at this new hospital for 13 weeks. Will I like it? Will the other nurses be nice? I think it was just the jitters of trying something so new and different.

I was put in an extended stay hotel, which was kindof neat, but not really "home like".

Luckily the nurses were nice and helpful. They were thankful to have an additional nurse around!

Worst comes to worst, you are there for 13 weeks, about 3 months.
