What to do for future nursing career???

Hello-

I was recently accepted to nursing school at TCC. I start in January and I am soooo excited! I am just curious what all of the experienced nurses out there did while in nursing school. I am currently volunteering at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and LOVE it! I want to work there in the end but I am trying to get educated on all of my options. I have heard that you get paid for more hours then you actually work if you meet certain guidlines. I have also heard that of course you are stuck working for them for 2 years but also miss out on signing bonuses and may take a lower starting pay because of this. So I have two questions. First, does Parkland offer a similar program? Two, should I stay away from the program that THR offers and just wait to be hired on as a GN? I am hoping I didn't confuse everyone lol! I am just trying to get a head start on what I want to do so I can be fully prepared. Thanks for all of the info!!:bowingpur

OOPS! I forgot to put that THR is the hospital that I have heard does the student program.:)
