UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

Thanks for your comments

Ok so now I have a green circle! But weirdly enough I still have the "waiting on proof of TSI satisfaction" on my to do list lol I just don't get it but oh well

And to the previous poster (sorry on my phone so I can't go back and look at the name) I used a paramedic a&p book I got from a friend because it was smaller than my original textbook. It went over everything but it was more condensed and brief so what I still needed help with I went back to my textbook and notes for my class. I had taken a&p a couple semesters ago so the refresher was a must for me. Good luck!!

I just took my HESI Exam on Friday. I'm currently taking A&P II, so of course I didn't have all the material under my belt that I should have before taking the Exam. I used the HESI A2 Secrets book and the Evolve HESI Study guide. I thought they were both really good study guides. The A&P Section on my test had a majority of A&P II questions. I managed to get through it pretty well. I was worried more about the Critical Thinking but I did fine on that.

Good luck rayray, you can do it!

Hi guys i would like to take the hesi again and score higher in Vocabulary. I barely passed with a 76%, what do you guys recommened for that section???? If i don't get in this time around, i will need to take it again..

I found that the vocabulary from the evolve HESI study guide (got mine on amazon for a reasonable price) was a great study guide. It has a whole section dedicated to the terms you will find on the test. And I mean really, the study guide and the HESI Vocab section are very similar. I got a 100% on the Vocab section from using that study guide - hope it helps if you need to take it again!

Try reading a book with good vocabulary. Like A Dan Brown or John Grisham book.

I would also suggest quizlet online. They have the word bank for the vocab section from the evolve study guide and the word bank for vocab from the HESI A2 secrets study guide. I think it will definitely help you.
