    Hello all soon to be student nurses! I will graduate from this program in May, counting down the remaining 44 days. Just thought I would pop in and share. Ok, Biggest tip I can give you all, here it is. When you finish your first semester, you MUST start to apply for tech/unit secretary jobs at hospitals. You will be told during orientation that there is no way to work full time or even work at all during this program. That is a bunch of BULL!!! Having a ADN and no hospital experience will make finding a job very difficult for you. You need to get your foot in the door ASAP because internal applicants will be the first to get jobs. Just thought I'd share. I think you all have chosen a great program!!! Good luck to you all!!!

    Thanks for the tip! I can back this up 100%. I won't be starting the program until the fall, but I work in a hospital and definitely see the majority of jobs going to internal applicants. It's definitely important to get in while you can!

    Great advice ! I am still debating ADN vs BSN. I don't mind ADN b/c I'll start working towards my online BSN as soon as I can, but I've read horror stories of people who can't find anything.
    I'm currently trying to get on, in any capacity, in a hospital. No prior experience. Will start nursing school in Spring. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks !

    Apply, apply, apply! It also helps if you know somebody in the hospital. I applied to tons of jobs and then my friend got a job at a hospital. I applied for 2 jobs and put down that she referred me and got called for interviews for both and got offered both

    Hey y'all! So I am applying for Spring 2014 RN program...I made a 92 cumulative score on my Hesi and only have 2 more science classes to take. If I make all A's on my 4 science courses what do you think my chances are of getting in? I'm soo nervous!

    Hi y'all ! I am new to this site . So I am applying to the RN program Spring 2014. I made a 92 on my HESI and have only 2 more science classes to take before I can apply. I already have 2 A's, if I make A's on the next two science courses what do you think my chances are of getting in? Should I retake my HESI for a higher score?

    Welcome! If you continue to make A's and have a 4.0 science GPA then I would say a 92 on the HESI is perfectly fine you should have no trouble getting into the program.

    I hope to start job searching soon. My baby is almost 1 so I am doing the stay at home mom/student gig right now. I have had reservations about an ADN program too. I too will immediately roll into a full time BSN program and then hopefully into a graduate program. I am really interested in TCU's pediatric CNS program. Of course that is my dream, baby steps right now! Let me just get through this semester.

    Kinda random but did they send emails to y'all saying they got your application for TCC nursing?....I never got one after I dropped off my application?

    Nope, no emails for me. I don't think they send any emails except to let you know whether you we're accepted into the program or not.
