TEAS 6 Reading Questions

Hello, so I took the ATI TEAS 6 Practice test A from ATI Testing and did well. My problem is that I forgot to time myself in the reading section because I thought the practice test would do that for me. I think it took me around 56 ish minutes to finish 47 questions. I felt as if the reading section had some questions that had 2 answers that were very similar. I think that's what slowed me down because I read the passage fine. I made a few silly mistakes on math and english.

I guess what I'm wondering is how similar/easier is the Practice test A to the actual TEAS 6 exam Reading portion. I feel like I'm psyching myself out on that one section because I know we have 53 question and only 64 minutes to do them.

My scores for Practice test A were

Overall: 96.7%

Reading: 95.7%

Math: 96.5%

Science: 100%

English: 91.7%

It was slightly more difficult than practice test A from ATI. By looking at your score on the practice test, I am convinced that you'll do just as fine on the actual test.

Thank you! I guess I'm a little anxious about the time constraints. Another question, are the passages the same length or longer than what was given on the practice test?

I would say they are about the same length. For me, it felt like I got longer passages than on the practice test. If the passages are long and you are tight on time, fast forward to the last 12 questions or so; these questions are short so you wouldn't want to miss those (I did and ran out of time, so I retook the test just to boost my reading score).

Honestly, it is not difficult. Question however - are the scores that you've listed for the practice test A are for your first attempt or the second try? I took practice test A two time, that's how many time you can take it, and the score that I got for the first attempt was very close to the score that I got on the actual test.

My score was for my 1st attempt. I'm not using my second attempt (going to let my sister use it (she is taking the test as well). I felt confident taking the test but my biggest thing was forgetting to times myself during the reading. All I can remember was that I finished the reading section with 7 hours and 22 minutes left for that section. I think 8 hours was given.

Thank you, I'll make sure that I answer those last 12 questions if I'm short on time. During the reading section of the practice test, I believe I had 7 hours and 22 minutes left. Some people say you get 8 hours for each section of the practice exam, but I honestly can't remember. I'm done studying but I'm still doing short review sessions until my test date.

I have only taken the practice test once. I'm saving my second attempt for my sister to use because she's also going to take the TEAS exam.

I tell the students with whom I assist with TEAS prep to allow yourself one minute per question in the Reading section, and also, do not skip any questions. If after one minute you still aren't sure of the correct answer, then guess and move on! Don't spend extra time on a question that you might get wrong any how, and it is highly unlikely that you will the opportunity to go back to any questions you've left blank. You can miss 10 questions in the Reading section and still receive a competitive score! Good luck!
