1 - Easiest test of my life. My road test was harder than this.

2 - Not bad at all, a few questions had me guessing. Nothing special. Studying at a moderate pace helps.

3 - Somewhat demanding. I studied frequently for this exam (3-4x a week, 1hr per day)

4 - Demanding. 2+ hrs of studying every day.

Hello everyone, I just received the test prep book by mail from the ATI company that creates the TEAS exam. I'm going to start studying from it next week. For those that took the TEAS exam and did well, would you mind answering a few questions for me?

Firstly, Did you use the ATI test preparation book, or what other resources did you use?

How long in advance did you start studying for this exam?

What can I expect from the exam? Meaning, time allowed, how many questions from each section, would it be better to leave a question blank or attempt to guess?

How well did you do? What was in your opinion the tougher parts of the exam?

If anyone else that will be taking the TEAS exam has any questions please feel free to ask in this thread, it may help you and I at the same time.

I just used the ATI test prep, plus the practice exams online and in the book.

I studied for a little over a week before I tested. I'm one of those people that get super stressed the longer I study.

The ATI test prep book tells you exactly how much time is allotted for each section on the real exam and how much time you should be taking the practice test in.

I did okay. Scored in the 70's. My nerves got the best of me. The science was the hardest part for me.

I used the 5 practice test McGraw Hills book and the Secrets to TEAs V book in addition to the official ATI book. The questions in the other books weren't very similar to the actual exam but taking all those practice tests really helped with critical thinking and being more detailed. I also Google free practice tests and also Google specific topic quizzes for grammar, reading and math. Love Google

I studied full time for two weeks straight (minus weekends) and then lightly on and off for the third week. For last two days before my exam, I did not study at all. So overall, about 3 weeks total. It was during summer vacation so that's why I had time to focus only on the test.

Guess is better than leaving blank because if you leave it blank, you will miss the points. With guessing, you have a chance to get it correct. I had no problem with timing except for the reading portion. I took a lot longer reading and analyzing the passage than I should have and had to rush in the end. I recommend you timing yourself on practice tests. The number of questions for each section is stated in the ATI prep book...

I got overall 91.3%. 93.3 on both math and grammar. 88.9 on science and reading. On the practice tests, I repeatedly score 90-100 on math, 75-89 on the other portions. The toughest part was the uncertainty of types of questions on the science portion because it's kinda random and also, I had a hard time on reading because I interpret things very differently from the test creators apparently... Math and grammar are the two easiest imo because of the fact that they follow strict rules. If you learn the rules, you'll do fine in those portions.
