BADNAP 2014

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Does anyone have any feedback on the BADNAP program at OCCC beginning in June 2014?

Thank you Lordizzy629 ... I'll get it if I get in.

lordizzy, when you graduate and before we start, would you consider meeting us at OCCC (or elsewhere) to give us any pointers? We are going to need it! I wish we could start the reading right now.

Also, heard there were not even 72 applicants, so likely everyone who did apply with a complete package will get in this year. Lets us pray that is so.

P.S. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! :yeah:

Just an FYI, for those of you who are accepted, there will be a panel of previous BADNAP students at the orientation day. We all would be happy to answer any questions you might have there.. Also, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will try to reply to you as quickly as possible. (The program is over on March 14th and they are trying to kill us before that happens. :) ). Thanks everyone. I will say this though, I have found that most of the lectures are pointless. No joke. I have stayed at home a lot and read and taught myself. You'll find that this program is primarily self taught.. :(

I was also confused about something that the counselor said when she accepted my application. She mentioned that there were 63 spots as opposed to 73. Was there a change?

Thanks for the info! The "self taught" comment has me nervous!

A Friend and I spoke to an advisor. She said they received about 80 applications and that only 63 would be taken this semester. ( on the application it says up to 72 so I guess it fluctuates every year). She said they were processing applications pretty fast so we should hear something sooner rather than later.

I'm getting nervous! Ha, I've been checking my email way too many times throughout the day.

Hoping today is the day!

haha, I'm expecting to get wait listed since all my classes are not done yet, but I hear you guys. Unfortunately last years deadline was a week earlier and they heard on the 25th so I fear we will not hear anything til next week.

I mean, the program is designed to where you learn half the content in class, and half the content on your own, but it feels like you are learning it all on your own. I don't think the nursing instructors there have been able to nail down a solid teaching style that works for this program (versus traditional nursing school.) With that being said, when certain people lecture, it is a good idea to come to those lectures. Traci Born does a good job at lecturing, so does Sarah Brown and Robyn McMurray. I can't same the same for others.. If you more motivated to study, you should be okay. :D
