BADNAP 2014

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Does anyone have any feedback on the BADNAP program at OCCC beginning in June 2014?

I see. Unless there is a significant drop in applications this cycle I am preparing myself for being wait-listed since I have one last class I'm finishing this spring. At least I can hope for being a high alternate! I read in another thread that most often all students accept the offer but some will drop around orientation time. Fingers crossed.

you never know.....there might only be a handful of applicants that have everything completed! :) good luck!

Just checking in- I passed my TEAS today! Other than my brain being fried I feel great.

I am submitting my application tomorrow, but I'm expecting to be wait listed. My gpa stinks. Anyone know how many applications are submitted this year so far?

I haven't heard anything yet but I imagine that folks start reporting soon as we get closer to the deadline and more people ask.

therewillbejoel, congrats on passing the TEAS.

I spoke with the admission advisor for the BADNAP today. She stated that applicants won't start receiving emails of receipt until after the deadline has passed. She also said that a response on acceptance or those wait-listed should be expected anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks after the deadline. However, it will most likely be 3 to 4 weeks.

One final caveat, she said that compared to this time last year there are fewer applicants, but she expects them to pick up this final week. She didn't give me an exact number. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update Michaeljarvis

Last year, 2 people without complete prerequisites were accepted with GPA's of 4.0 and 3.76. Other than that, the rest had everything completed. When I turned in my application, they said a lot of people wait until the last minute to turn everything in. They said the wait for final selection can be anywhere from 3-6 weeks, but usually sooner rather than later. Sometimes they have to verify out of state or foreign transcripts. I'm hoping we find out in 3-4, at most! Good luck, everyone!

Looking at last year's forum, applicants received acceptance e-mails around Feb. 25th or 26th. Hopefully it will be the same this year!

tmassey I hope so too. I'm super anxious.

Does anyone have a final application count?

Just a few heads up for you guys applying to the BADNAP program. I'm currently in the program. I will graduate on March 14th. It can be a tough program. In my opinion, the material is not hard at all, it is just the volume of material you have to learn in such a short amount of time. There might be weeks where you don't feel like you have much to do, and there WILL be weeks where you don't know how you are going to get all your stuff done. Best advice for you all so far.. Buy a Baby Lewis Medsurge book. It is the Medsurge Clincial Companion and that book has been a life saver! Good luck to all you applicants! :)
