I know that it is normal to not have a period when receiving the Depo-provera shot, does anyone know is this bad for your health after any amount of time. Is it necessary to stop any kind of bc routinely?

I don't believe that studies have found it to be harmful. There are many new BC methods that involve skipping periods, such as Seasonale (4 periods per year) and I believe there will soon be a patch type that does not involve stopping for a week to get the "period".
