My questions were pretty normal. Stressful situations, how did u react? How do you handle stress? Why L&D? How have you communicated with doctors? Any time when you had a touchy situation in dealing with doctors?

Just wanted to add good luck! Today was my day, hope tomorrow is yours!

Good luck! Please post back and let us know how it was!

No matter what the questions, answer honestly. Just be yourself and express your commitment and passion for the specialty. And do send a thank you card, and be persistent. I cant stress that enough. Good luck!

Yes, my interview is tomorrow. I'll be practicing and researching questions all day!

For the stress questions, I am planning on saying that it's important to stay focused on my patients and priorities. If I need a minute to myself, I'll take it. Sometimes just that minute is all I need to refocus.

What do you think?

Thanks for the info and I will definitely post back and let you know how it goes!

Good, but saying you will take a minute on your own is rather scary when you have a baby crowning! Find an example of a stressful time and what quick thinking you did to deal with it or solve the problem.

Okay thanks! I was thinking more about stress with co-workers/doctors/patients, etc. Not emergency situations. But I will come up with an example to describe it! Thanks!

Have examples for all possible situations!!! That way you don't seem stumped and you don't panic!

The only reason I say emergency situations is because thats what a stress question was based about for me--- for being a new grad in L&D how would I handle the stress of a mom/baby suddenly going bad? What would I do? Emotionally how would I react to the stress? What situations have been stressful that I've handled? I also got the "How do you handle communicating with an MD who isn't that kind either?"

So my interview went REALLY well. She said she would call me by the end of the week. I assumed that was Friday. Friday has come and gone and still no word. Do you think she meant Sunday?! I'm dying here! Been on pins and needles since the interview.

BTW, it was the easiest interview ever. She didn't ask any situational questions. There were 3 people in the room but it was so relaxed and conversational. But I could tell they loved all my answers and they really liked me. I was so confident leaving that interview. But now I'm totally second guessing myself.

The wait is killing me!! :nailbiting:

That's awesome! Did you send a thank you card?? I'm excited for you! That's how my interview went too!
