Have you ever... and how do you document it?

You know the pts. that come in a 3:00am huffing and puffing that you know are in transition by the look on their face.... You do an SVE and find a huge BBOW that is tight as a drum and of course before you can either find a cervix or get your hand out of there.... POP. SROM... AROM... ROM... Whatever....

Of course this can happen in any number of scenarios... just wondering how often it happens to you and how do you document it?

SROM during VE (your intention wasn't to rupture the membranes, right??!!). Fluid clear, moderate amount, no foul odor. Cheers!

:chuckle This happened to me years ago and I never forgot! The presentation was transverse and the pt. was complete. Unfortunately I went to the or for the stat c section with a wet top. Only happened once in the 3 years I worked L&d but that was enough!:rotfl: As for the documentation...just put it like it was...pt. presents....SVe done...SROM...{in my face} fluid clear...etc

Happens every once in a while, might happen more often if docs weren't so AROM happy. I document SROM during SVE, etc.... Surprise, surprise

never happened yet, I'm new in OB, about 1 year, about 6 months on my own. I actually haven't felt anything but vertex, any hints on other feels???
