Acupuncture and Infertility

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried acupuncture for infertility or if anyone knows any information about it.. I have a friend who has infertility problems. She is taking infertility medicine and has gotten pregnant but miscarried both times.. Just wondering if anyone has any information about it or thoughts .. Thanks! :)

I was a surrogate mother for a friend. We did a frozen embryo transfer (FET) two times. The first time was completely unsuccessful with 2 embryos. The second time we used accupuncture and I did get pregnant, but miscarried. Supposedly these were the "lowest quality" of all the embryos created by my friend and her husband...they also had been frozen the longest. Long story short, we were really impressed by the statistics and really think it helped our chances. Just be sure if your friend chooses this route, that she sees a acupuncurist that specializes in women's fertility issues.

My brother and sis in law have been trying for years to get pg. They have tried the fertility drugs, did 3 rounds of IVF. She quit her high pressured job, took a lower pressured one, was doing acupunture and was still on low dosage of fertility drugs (lower than before). They are now preg with triplets. One set of identical twins and an singleton. :balloons:

It could have been a coincidence, it could be from lowering her stress level, all I know is if I was having problems getting pg, I would try it.

I've heard it's supposed to be helpful to actually get pregnant, but that miscarriage is another story. From what I've read, stress one of the reasons women don't get pregnant, so it makes sense that accupuncture might be of some help there. I know that I, for one, will try accupuncture first, before IVF, should I have fertility problems in a few years.
