This evening my boyfriend and I were laying on the couch watching TV, and I fell asleep. I rolled around for a good two hours and could not get comfortable, although I slept right through it. At one point I partially remember waking up to ask my boyfriend to move something that was under me(his elbow, the remote control, a pillow... we aren't sure what it was I was refering to). Now the next part of the story was told to me by my boyfriend because I clearly was not awake. But he says that I promptly sat up on my elbow, pointed between us and said... "Greg, did you get everything out of here?, did you get everything you needed?... did you get the patients out?" He says... "...what? ...Cait, what are you talking about?, what patients?" I say " The patients... did you get them out?" I pointed between us again and yelled at him for not being considerate because he was laughing. At this point I was rather irritated and said "Hello?!?! THE patients. The patients to the left, the patients to the right, the patients all around, it makes complete sense so STOP making fun of me!" I realized what I was saying shortly after this and had to laugh at myself. I knew you guys would appreciate it, so here I am, wide awake, feeding my All Nurses addiction. :D:lol2:

once, after several weeks of overtime every week, i had fallen asleep on the couch, and my husband tried to wake me up to go to bed, and i proceeded to yell at him about needing some more ___ (he says i said something medical that he had no clue what i was talking about, i obviously, was asleep and don't remember), when he asked what i was talking about, he says i rolled over and grabbed a click eraser, and shoved it in his face yelling "these f*cking things!!!), and i need them for the patient in 604", he was like ok..., so i yelled at him about the patient in 604 having chf...he just left me asleep on the couch. lol. glad i'm not the only one who does this!

We have a burglar alarm, the control box is just outside our bedroom door. We also have an elderly lady who stays with us and her bedroom is next door to ours. Hubby and I were in bed and asleep the other night when this lady went to bed herself, so she set the alarm. It gives off a steady peep-peep sound for about 1 minute after arming, sounds exactly like an ecg monitor....

So I wander out of the PACU, thinking, "Where's this patient? That's not one of our oximeters...")

Of course, I come fully awake with the alarm shrieking, the dogs barking hysterically and my hubby almost knocks me flat tearing out of the bedroom to tackle the "intruder". I think I woke up half the neighbourhood!

I worked in the PACU for about 6 months. One night I grab my husband's arm while he was sleeping and told him he had to stay in bed. He was startled because he was only trying to turn over in bed. I thought he was one of my pts trying to get out of the stretcher. It was definately a good laugh, my husband didn't know I was that strong.
