Hi, I am a registered nurse who was involved in a serious car accident in 2006, in which I fractured my right clavicle, sacrum, pelvis, ribs and sustained a closed head injury. I just recently found out that the head injury is causing me to have some memory loss which can be quite severe at times. This and the fact that my clavicle has never healed is stopping me from returning to clinical nursing. Since the accident, I have also been diagnosed with severe depression and have been medicated for that. I have been contemplating switching careers and have considered LNC but after reading the forums, I am not sure if that is the right course for me. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I too suffer a closed head injury, along with numerous other injures, in 1989. I underwent evaluation, while in rehab, and cognitive therapy. I was able to regain much of the knowledge I had lost. I suggest you contact your state's Department of Vocational Rehab. They can supply funding for testing and education.

Good luck

Hey Tammi -

No real advice, but I'm really glad you're still around, given how severe your wreck. Good luck with your decision. I hope that you continue to heal and find comfort...
