Taking A&P (BIOL 223&224) at TMCC vs UNR

U.S.A. Nevada

Hello,

I'm a student just starting to take nursing pre-reqs while working full time in a totally unrelated field. :uhoh3:

I'm keeping both UNR & TMCC as my options for applying, so I'm trying to start with pre-reqs that overlap between two programs. I will be taking HDFS 201 on line and either take CHEM121 or BIOL190 at TMCC for Spring 2012 semester.

I am hoping that I'll be able to take BIOL 223 & 224 at TMCC since they seem to offer at least one night class each semester and the tuition is much more affordable for me. (I'm kinda poor and cannot quit work for now... :p) I've taken BIOL190 long time ago at UNR, but it doesn't satisfy as pre-reqs for TMCC's BIOL224&224 without the lab credit. I don't mind retaking 190 to get into 224&223 at TMCC, but a friend of mine from UNR has told me that TMCC's 223&224 are much more difficult than UNR's, which really scares me... If I take them at UNR, I don't have to repeat 190, but I'll have to quit my job to take day classes.

Has anyone taken BIOL223 & 224 at TMCC while working and gotten A's? Has anyone taken them both at TMCC & UNR and if so, are there really that big of difference?

I know I'll eventually have to give up full time job, but I have elderly parents that I need to support financially and I would like to keep this job and take classes for as long as I can manage to, but at the same time I'm determined to do whatever I need to do in order to get A's in all my pre-reqs...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :heartbeat
