ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I graduated nursing school in March of '97 and I have to tell you it was the hardest thing I've done in my life! As the mother of five school age children; you can imagine that finances get strapped. I wanted to go to school so much that I signed up for classes knowing I would not be able to purchase books. I completed the entire LPN program without text books.. Let me tell you what made it easier for me; I took notes like you can't imagine.. but one thing I always looked for was "repeats". Instructors tend to repeat

"important" information. Also I taped what lectures we were allowed to. When I would get home in the evenings, I'd move notes from notebook paper to index cards.. kinda like flashcards.. and study those while I listened to the tapes. Also, (ok..maybe everyone doesn't wanna do this one) I "taught" class to myself in front of the mirror using my flashcards. May sound silly.. but I finished the program with a 3.57 GPA.. not TOO bad.. eh? Good luck in your studies and I hope I was able to help just a little.

we are going to graduate in May 99. Yeah....

we've been suffering from the first day of this program (BSN) up to now. we think a study group and skim the chapters ahead of time would help a lot. asking questions related to your lectures. don't miss the lectures time because all important notes will be talking in class. On the clinical days, review the medication and check with your instructor before you give it out, pay attention in safety precaution. take a good sleep before your clinical day. good luck to you. hopefully see you some days outside a real world.

Hi! I just graduated from a BSN program in May 1998. It's challenging, but worth every effort! One tip I have is practicing questions from NCLEX review books, pertaining to the subjects you're studying in class. It's good practice for answering NCLEX-style questions & you never know what may pop up on your lecture tests! Good luck!! =)

hi! trying to study is hard. Best advice I can give you is 1)don't try to cram everything in all at once. There is too much to remember! 2) tape your classes if its allowed. Reviewing the tapes helps you retain the information. 3)take notes!! 4)if you will graduate soon,study the nclex books.they help.5)study groups-these help alot, and usually the setting is more relaxed to be able to get different views,answers that you might not have thought of.
