For those who might not be aware, the MDS 3.0 Provider User's Guide is available at https://www.qtso.com/mds30.html.

Table of Contents includes these important chapters:

Chapter 3 - Functionality (how to submit MDS 3.0 data)

Chapter 4 - Reports (validation reports)

Chapter 5 - Error Messages (errors and warnings on the MDS 3.0 validation report)

Information about how to use CASPER is in the CASPER Reporting Users Manual on the CMS MDS submission website. Keep in mind that the monthly provider reports (missing assessment report, etc.) are going to be found in CASPER for MDS 3.0.Some people don't know that the MDS 3.0 manual was updated recently in August 2010, so get those updates if you have not already.
