HPU

U.S.A. Hawaii

Hi,

I am going to start Nursing school in HPU Hawaii, so I was wodering what to expect from this school?

Load up on tylenol for the many headaches, get a good psychiatrist for all the insanity, and win the lottery before you start because you are going to need all three to go to HPU for nursing school. I don't want to discourage what should be a really exciting time for you. But wow, HPU is quite an experience. Do your research on who the good professors are and just know that you will eventually graduate and be done with HPU. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Sincerely-an HPU Nursing graduate

Thank you,

I just hope to have a great time and I know is going to be very stressful, do you know anythink about the NCLEX passing scores? I am also accepted to HU in Manoa which one is better? or should I stay in HPU?

Refer to that post!!

I can tell you that UH Manoa has made the top 100 list of Nursing Schools in the nation tied at 99th place.

GO to UH Manoa!!!! It has some minor headaches as well but its a great school. I cannot stress this enough...GO TO UH Manoa!! Good luck and congratulations!

Manoa all the way.

HPU is completely disorganized and some teachers are more than painful to deal with. It is a very tough program however, as a new grad nurse in an ER, I can say that I was very well prepared from HPU. However, with that being said, you have to take your education into your own hands. You have to put forth the study and learn as much as you want. The teachers are not going to hand you the information. In my opinion it seemed that they gave you a good foundation to start to build with and it was your responsiblity to study and make the connections. I did have a really hard time with the school due to their ridiculous logic sometimes but in all honesty my graduating class was all well prepared for the NCLEX and nursing life there after. I think out of 110 students 1 person failed NCLEX and those numbers are not bad at all.
