Aloha, I work at a small hospital and HNA is trying to organize here. Just want to know anyone's personal experiences/overall feelings about this union. Not looking for another union vs nonunion thread:deadhorse, just wanting specifics about this union. Has anyone been around during the period when they take over? Any info is helpful...Thanks, momo

HNA is not the greatest as far as unions go, according to my mainland friends who are familiar with unions. But without HNA we would have NOTHING, in my opinion. We have much better pay than the hospitals would have been willing to give us without HNA but our benefits, PTO, etcetera are still lagging way behind mainland areas with similar costs-of-living.

You will be better off with a union to protect you. I look at what the "Big Five" were willing to give us before we went on strike and look at what we have now. There is no "'ohana" ethics in the big business of health care these days. Very sad, but this is how it is.

The protection of a union is worth the monthly dues. :yeah:

Thanks for the feedback, Pua. HNA is in, so I'm glad you have good things to say about the organization. We'll see what kind of contract we get once they get settled!
