Malia - Oct 29, '05 by Ariel70113Quote from maliatoh really...is that a better way to go?? What pre-reqs do you need to take in order to get into UH BSN program?Hi - I'm prenursing too at KCC. Plan to apply to UH for their accelerated BSN. I already have a BA.
Malia - Oct 29, '05 by maliatFor me it is, becuase I have a previous BA. I only had to add a Chemistry, Hawaiian Studies, and Pharmacology class to the list that I was already going to take. The plus side is that the accelerated program is only 18 months as opposed to the regular 3 years at UH or 5 semesters at KCC. The minus is that it's a lot more money. And from what I've heard, it can be even more competitive to get into, but I'm crossing my fingers.

Malia - Oct 29, '05 by maliatSince I'm taking my pre-reqs there, I have lots of classmates applying there. For the RN program it's especially important to have a high GPA on your pre-reqs & co-reqs and high NLN test score. Some of my friends are taking extra classes other than the ones required to boost their GPA. I don't remember what classes are good, but if you've been to a one of those info sessions they'll tell you. One example I can think of is that even though micro lab is not required, I know a fair number of people who are taking it anyway.

Malia - Nov 16, '05 by Sabrina_HIHi,
I was at KCC working on my nursing pre-req's for over 2 years! It's super duper competitive. I've gone to the info sessions and they tell you they only take 45 students a semester and they have over 200 applicants apply and there's no waiting list. I transferred to Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) for the Fall 2005 semester and it looks like I'll be starting my clinicals in Fall 2006 and I'll be graduating with a BSN in December 2008. You should really look into HPU, it's a really great school. I hope this helps...let me know if you have any questions. - Jan 5, '09 by ahmadfaiz1992hello,
I'm sixteen this year and I will be going to a polytechnic in Singapore that offers the nursing course. But firstly I have to wait for my results.
