Dalton State

U.S.A. Georgia

Did anyone here get accepted to/graduate from Dalton State fairly recently? I just have a few questions about their program. Thanks!

Do you go to Dalton State now for your prereqs or are you going somewhere else? Are you applying to the nursing program for fall '09?

I am doing my pre-reqs at DSC. I also recieved my Phlebotomy certification from DSC. I am applying for Fall 2009, I have my fingers crossed! I am so nervous. Do you have many Pre reqs left?

That's awesome! I only have 2 more prereqs left...I'm taking Micro this summer and A&P II in the Fall. I'm nervous too! Do you know how many applicants vs. spots in the program there are?

its competitive like all programs, but honestly, not bad at all from what I've witnessed. I think it may be the area. I dont know exact numbers but they take about 80. They raised the min GPA to 2.7 and knocked the number of applicants way down.

I hope it's not too bad! I'll have all my prereqs done and approximately a 3.5 gpa plus another degree, so I'm hoping I've got a decent shot at it. How many prereqs (if any) do you have left and do you like the school?

I will have 3 left when they start accepting for the program ( I know a girl that is straight out of high school, no pre reqs that got accepted ).

Oh wow, that's awesome! That makes me feel a lot better!

I hope it wasnt just a fluke since they changed the requirements this year. Im trying not to get my hopes up.

What did they change the requirements to? I know there are 10 gen ed type courses you have to take, but they said you could apply at any point during your education, there's not a certain class/classes that you actually have to complete before applying.

from a 2.5 gpa to a 2.7

Oh ok cool, that's not so bad. Thanks for all your helpful info!:D
