CHOA CHANCES scholarship

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hey everyone,

I'm in the process of applying for the CHANCES scholarship at CHOA. The scholarship itself is great, but to me the biggest incentive is getting to work for Children's after I graduate (December 2011 :lol2:)! I really want to be a great pediatric nurse, and everything I've researched in or around the Atlanta area points to CHOA as the way to go. If I don't receive the scholarship, I'm definitely going to apply for the new grad program. I'm in nursing school at Georgia Health Sciences University (formerly Medical College of Georgia--we just changed our name), which is an amazing program, but I'm worried that my chances of getting hired at CHOA will be hurt by not having clinical or practicum there. Has anyone applied for the scholarship or a new grad program at CHOA? Any advice, tips, encouragement would be great!

Of course, I'll be happy to get a job after I graduate because I've really fallen in love with the nursing profession, but my heart is in peds. Thanks for the help!
