Hey all, Just a few questions... Im thinking of relocating. Im sick of massachusetts and I have a strong feeling that this state is going to go down the ******* because of borderline bankruptcy. Also its time to relocate, sick of snow, sick of newengland. Housing is rediculous. My girlfreind and I have a baby together, an interacial relationship and I think that from the demographics the area will be freindly in that regard.

How is the housing in the area? school systems? The hospitals? the ratios?

Ive been a nurse for almost 5 years, in medsurg/telemetry/ortho in community hospitals and I was a CNA for 5 years before that. Ive also done contract work in some serious hardcore rehab floors (cardiac rehabs, and general rehabs which honestly I have found to be 100x busier than any hospital floor Ive ever worked) I have my associates, Im ACLS certified, Im BLS, also very experienced in computerized charting. (prefer that by god) Ive used CERNER and Meditech.

Wondering what kind of pay to expect with my backround? I do prefer community hospitals, but I think it is time to move on from that.

Also wondering if hospitals are willing to train a good orientation with my background for areas like ICU or Cardiac Cath.

Thanks guys for any info!

Augusta area has a fairly low cost of living, and Georgia is known for being a lower paying state. High cost of living=High pay and visa versa. It gets cold in Georgia but it does not last long. Augusta has been known to get some snow, but one snowflake shuts the city down. I doubt you will have any trouble finding a job in Augusta with your experience. I'd suggest you google for the hospitals as they have websites. Georgia is not a compact state so prepare early if you plan to move down this way. Good luck in your decision. Vicki
