I don't want to bum you out, but between what I have seen personally, and anecdotal evidence from all over the country, the job market is *tough* right now.

I highly advice that in your last quarters/semesters, while out doing clinicals, SHINE. Make those precepting/mentoring you *love* you and go to their management and say that they really want to work with you once you graduate.

I don't know about where you live, but in my area, (again, anecdotal info), I would have to estimate that 90% of the new hires, including me, are getting jobs in facilities/units in which they have clinical experience. Many of those who don't have been searching for a job for some time.

I know of a few people who graduated a couple of quarters ahead of me who are still looking.

It's partly luck, personality, and skills, but an awful lot of it is up to the perception you create in those around you.

Much luck to y'all in your new careers!

DC :)
