San Diego Externships

Hi!

I am a nursing student at the University of Michigan and I am looking for externships for this summer. I have two friends who live in San Diego (Hillcrest area) and would love to go live with them and spend part of my summer in San Diego. Does anybody know of any programs? I emailed Scripps and UCSD but haven't recieved anything back. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Look at the VA hospital in San Diego. They have a program over the summer called VALOR. It is probably way to early to apply (I applied last spring for the summer program). I did my program at a different VA, but I know that San Diego has it also. It was a fabulous experience, 400 hours with a preceptor and you get paid awesome too!

I would call the hospital and ask for the nurse recruiter. You have to be between your junior and senior year in the nursing program.
