New Grad Positions w/M-F day hours?

Hi,

I will be a new RN grad soon and my husband is considering taking a new job assignment that is 100% travel - he will be gone Mon - Fri. We live in a state with no family here, so I will be managing 2 kids by myself. It would be impossible for me to work the standard hospital hours of 7-7 here - either days or nights -- because I couldn't be there to either pick up kids or take them to school, help with homework, you name it. I need to work something like M-F 8-5. Where can new grads do that? Is a Dr.'s office the only place? And wouldn't it be impossible to build my skills somewhere like that? Before this came up, I was hoping to work Med-Surg while I figured out if I wanted to choose between L&D or Critical Care, both of which won't take you until 2 years on the floor. This would be an excellent opportunity for my husband, however, so it may make sense for our family to do this and I am willing to give some things up.

Just enlighten me on what options I have. Thanks --
