Hi guys. I need chem and micro before entering the nursing program in Aug 2014. However, I dont dare to take micro in a short term. I saw that micro is not required to enter. Students may take it later, as long as its before graduation. I feel like this is for a reason; maybe micro is not seen too much in the nursing program? What do you guys suggest? Is micro THAT important?

Take Micro before you start the program!! It will help tremendously in understanding hygiene and epidemiology. Plus, the nursing program at broward is so intensive that I can't imagine also trying to juggle micro. It's a tough class.

Thank you so much! I made my decision. I will finish everything before entering and make sure I do excellent on the HESI. Any advice on the exam? I would greatly appreciate it!

I feel like I didn't learn anything in Micro. So far I haven't felt at any disadvantage. The funny thing is I got an A in the class, but the teacher was very boring and nothing he said seemed very important. I decided that if at some point it seemed crucial that I know more about micro than I do now, I'm going to have to study it by myself.

Thank you for your feedback! Do you attend Broward College?

I took micro at north and I found it a very good start for nursing. It really helped understand the basics of disease and how we treat people. It had lots of information about how antibiotics actually work. Plus tons more. I wouldn't worry as long as you study. It wasn't that bad. Research your professor.
