Nursing Students General Students

Hi!

Just wondering who else will be joining me at LASC Spring 2017? I haven't been able to find much information on the courses/education plan so I'm patiently waiting for orientation next month.

Hi,

I went to orientation yesterday and everything is so expensive right out the gate. Wish we would of got heads up of the expenses so we could have planned.

Hello,

I would like to know how do you like the program?

The program is challenging, but I like the clinical part of it where you get hands on with the patients.

The lab supplies and mannequins are a bit outdated.

Ohh okay, thank you for replying.

If you don't mind me asking, how many students are in your class and what is your 1st semester schedule like?

Are you able to tell me where do you guys do clinicals at?

Is it possible to work while in the program?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks again :)

Our cohort was originally 32 but it's 27 of ur now because a few got dropped for incorrectly uploading documents in to castle branch. Make sure you take it very serious. And ask questions if you do not understand.

First semester (first 8 weeks) is fundamentals (how to skills) and Nursing process, (second 8 weeks) nursing communication and med surg.

The clinicals for us is a Wla Kaiser but it could change depending on which clinical group you get because they split the cohort up so it's not too many of you at one site/floor.

And I quit my job to just focus on school but about half of the cohort works, you just have to have a strick schedule to study because it's a lot of material. But it's not how long you study, it's about what you retain while studying.

Are you in the program for fall? If so I'll give you some study tips and things that helped my cohort when you start.

First semester is the toughest bc if you don't pass with a 76 you fail out the program. So just if you have to work go part time until you get ur studying down. It's really different than studying for prerequisites. It's a lot of critical thinking..
