Hello, everyone. This is my first post. I am a non-practicing RN nearing the end of a nurse refresher course. I am 11 years away from hospital nursing and taking the refresher so I can go and do a few nights shifts a month in our small hospital here in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. There is an extreme shortage of nurses here, so seeing as I have never been able to get my body out of night-shift mode anyway, I figured I might as well be productive if I was gonna be up all night anyway.
Anyway, my question is: I am doing an assignment on stroke. I have looked up every available web site on stroke and have gotten tons of good information. However, even though every article talks about the signs and symptoms of a stroke, they do not mention the pathophysiology behind the signs and symptoms. They do with the "effects" of a stroke, but not with the signs and symptoms.
If anyone has any suggestions as to where I can find this information, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks so much.
