GRE 2015 Advice & Tips

Hey everyone!

I'm currently looking into applying to graduate school (some sort of entry level masters into nursing program) and was wondering if anyone had any advice on studying/recommended study materials for the new GRE?

I've heard horror stories from colleagues of mine saying that it is a long and arduous test and most of them felt like "giving up" in the middle of it. Yikes! Right now I'm not in the financial position to pay for a tutor, so I'm obviously in the market for the best and efficient prep out there.

First off, what would be considered a "good score"? Anyone know of any great vocabulary building apps? Videos on youtube to watch to aid with quantitative skills/verbal reasoning skills?

For any of you out there who are in an accelerated nursing/masters entry nursing program or just in grad school for that matter, please feel free to share your experience taking the GRE!

Hope to keep in touch with all of you! Let's start a conversation! :)

Hi there,

I am studying for the GRE now and taking it hoping to get onto a Masters in Nursing at Hopkins.

They have said they are looking for 50th percentile in terms of marks so around 304 + (out of 340).

Maths is what I am working most on as I have not taken high school maths in so long but it is doable with a few months of prep.

I'm relying on the ETS book, Princeton and Magoosh' online subscription which has videos of everything you need to know plus lots of practice questions.

Good luck!
