Externship Interview

Nursing Students General Students

HI all,

I have an interview for an externship coming up! I have been on interviews before but I think this may be different. I just began nursing school and I feel like I won't have really great questions to ask. I know all about the program and stuff but not much on the hosipal.

Bottom line.. what's important to know and discuss and what isn't. The interview is for maternity/Ob. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you have any previous experience working with those types of skills, make sure the interviewer is aware of that. For example, working around babies in day care, vet tech (shots), or have future potential in the field (OB nurse to be). Be enthusiastic but don't be manic! Let them know that there is a good chance you will work for them after you graduate and become an RN. It would help if you had a friend at the hospital that could put in a good word for you to the employer. Finally make sure that you are getting the desired hours that you want (not over working while trying to graduate), but be willing to work when they need someone to fill in occasionally. Good luck! :)
