Can anyone offer any details on how clinicals, for the most part, are set up?

For example:

1) Are the sites spread out throughout Philly, or in a centralized locale?

2) Do you need a vehicle to get to these sites, or is there nearby public transportation?

2) Do they consistently begin at 6:45 AM?

3) Are there clinical sites in Lancaster, York, or Harrisburg?

The reason I ask is because I will be commuting by car, or train, on a daily basis to do this program.

Specializes in SRNA.

I graduated back in March, but I'm sure things haven't changed much.

1. The sites are spread out in Philadelphia, New Jersey and the Philadelphia suburbs. One quarter I had to do a gero clinical west of the city and then drive and hour to jersey to prep for the next day. Bleah.

2. Yes and sometimes.

2. No - this is up to the clinical instructor. Ususally 6:30 was the norm for me. But that was before they started the night and weekend clinicals, which you'll have with the ACE program.

3. No, but there are some in the western suburbs. A friend commuted from lancaster and she was in my new jersey clinicals. Go figure.
