Are all nursing schools like this?

Nursing Students General Students

Just curious to hear other student's experiences. I recently started a PN-RN bridge program. It's a sister community college to a large university all under the same name and it's a prestigious nursing school in my area, one of the best you can attend. My PN school experience was awful due to the vocational, for-profit (I realize not all for-profit schools are that way) aspect and the disorganization. When I wanted to go back, I chose this new school and worked my behind off the last three years doing pre-requisite classes. I had no college credits other than vocational which didn't transfer so I started from square one. I did my research, checked graduation and NCLEX pass rates, it has all of the right accreditations.

That said, I have been shocked at the disorganization of the program. I take initiative and do not want my hand held but the list of assignments (its hybrid, so half online) is so unclear I can't make left or right of it, neither can fellow classmates. When asked in a respective way about clearing up confusion, the professors are very impatient and honestly do not seem happy to be there. I'm not super sensitive either but even I have been taken aback by the demeanor of the professors. Mostly talking to you in a way that makes it clear they think your incompetent. We are only a month in so it's not like they could be tired of us yet or think we are bad apples, we haven't even started clinical yet. The list of conflicting information we are given on a daily basis is long but its enough to make me worry I put my money and effort into the wrong program.

Is this the norm? Being adult learners, I expected to treat all those around with respect and at least receive some of that in return. Or am I expecting too much? I'm doing great grade wise so far but am discouraged by the tone that's already being set. Opinions/experiences please! If this is to be expected at least I will know I didn't make a huge mistake and I will just keep trucking along and flying under the radar....
