Advice on Admisison Porfolio

Nursing Students General Students

Hi everyone,

I need some advice on how to do a porfolio for nursing school. My school requires those applying to nursing to do an admission portfolio, and they asked to be creative. I truly don't know how to start. It requires a cover sheet with my name, address, phone number, etc;but I don't know how to format it, which is section 1. Section 2 is the resume composed of Educational history, Employment hx.,Volunteer hx.(what if I've never volunteered?), and achievements. 3rd section asks me 10 personal and challenging questions. How can I format this and make it look professional. Also, should I add a binder and mail it, I can't take it personally because the school is 2 hours away from where I live. Anyways, it tells me to address each question separately, what does that mean? Do I put each question in a different page. Please Help!

Thanks

I've made portfolios for clinical ladder advancements and once you get started, it seems quite easy. The first thing I did was I grabbed all records of certificates of CEUs and for your case achievements. I included things I personally did...development of protocols and procedures, PPT presentations. If you have created PPT or written papers, include a sample. Include pictures...pictures can speak a thousand words. Maybe a page devoted to what inspired you to go to nursing. Maybe another to why nursing and not some other career. I utilized some scrapbooking ideas to jazz it up a bit and bought a binder and used plastic sheets to slide my stuff in.

Hope this helps!
