Difference between CNM and NMW?

I'm researching grad programs and am looking at Vanderbilt in Nashville, and they call their midwifery program NMW (Nurse MidWife I'm guessing). How is this different from a CNM? Is NMW just a term for someone who has had the midwifery education but hasn't passed the certification test?
Any thoughts?

NMW = Nurse Mid Wife
CNM = Certified Nurse Midwife

Same thing, only "CNM" is the "official" designation for an individual licensed through the ACMB (or whatever else calls it these days), which is the organization that administers certifying exams or "boards" for graduates of CNM programs. "CNM" are the official initials after your name, comparable to "RN" are a Registered Nurse's legal initials and designation.
