Day in the life of a Case Manager?

Hello,

I am interviewing tomorrow at my current employer (hospital) for a ICU case management job. I have approx. 15 years hospital experience, mostly in emergency department. I was wondering if any of you wonderful case managers based in hospitals like what they do. Will I be busy all day? I really like to work and I need to be busy and challenged. The position is listed as utilization review/case management so I am thinking I will be doing some paperwork.

I have just applied for a case manager position at my hospital. I have been a PCU RN for over 10yrs and love the fast pace. I was able to shadow someone for two days. I loved it! Something different....I work PRN at another hospital, so I will still have floor experience. If you are truly interested in job, ask to shadow someone. Hope this helps...
