Hi there! I've been reading this forum for a couple of years now, but never got around to joining, so here I am. I'm a telecommuting UM nurse for an MCO in the southwest. I am planning on taking the CCM Exam in December 2015. I'm looking for someone to study with via Skype; alternatively, if you're within an hour of Albuquerque, in person would be cool too.

Hi there. I'm scheduled to take the CCM exam in August. I'm a seasoned nurse with about 3 years experience in case management. Like all lot of people, I'm not sure what I should focus on the most when I'm studying. Do you have any suggestions? I appreciate it

There are a lot of great suggestions in this forum--my plan is to work through Deanna Cooper Gillingham's book, CCM Certification Made Easy. She's got a pretty nifty website as well. A couple of my peers highly recommended her. My position is pretty heavy on the UM/UR side of things, so I plan on really focusing on my weaknesses, i.e worker's comp and so forth.

Hi, I have years of nursing experience and about 3 years of Case Management (1 year at insurance company and 2 as hospital). I am taking my CCM in August. I feel the weakest in Workman's Comp. as well. I'll be looking into Gillingham's book. I just want to be following this feed for any good ideas/tips!

Thank you for recommending my book and website. I recently sent out a free workbook that accompanies the book. If you did not get it send me a note from my contact page and I will email it to you.

When I was preparing for the CCM, I also formed a virtual study group and found it very helpful. If you would like, I will send out an email to others that have indicated that they are planning on taking the CCM and see if any are interested in getting a group together with you. Again, feel free to contact me through my contact page. Best of luck to you!

Thanks, Deanna--I'd love to have you send out that email. I'll contact you through your contact page.
