265 and worried!!

Published

HI, I just took my boards yesterday 08/19/2008. I took Kaplan and had been studying forever, went into the boards with confidence was nervous but seemed to me to be the normal amt. and I GOT 265 QUESTIONS!!! OMG!!! I can not believe I thought I was sooo ready. I have prayed and prayed that I passed, been praying for months now that I will pass. Do people pass in 265 questions? And is the last question the main determinant?? I am so worried. I ran out of pearson a crying like a baby and curled up in the passenger seat of my best friends car, and have been on and off crying. PLEASE HELP!!:crying2: I "hear" that people can pass on whatever and fail in whatever, but that means that i was up and down or in the grey forever... that the cpu could not determine 95% that I was ready. HELP!!

Hi: My friend just took hers and she had 265 also and passed. The 48 hours of waiting are so hard. I took mine on the 16th and I found out that I passed on Monday. I left the Pearson Vue center distressed and feeling so defeated and low. I also did Kaplan and studied for months so I know what you are going through....not easy

Try to distract yourself as much as you can. I am sure you did fine.

While I was waiting I did so many things that I could not do since I was studying such as clean out my closet, clean my basement, etc...

You will be fine...

hey there--i want to wish you the very best for the outcome of your results. i also want to mention that anyone can pass at 265 as well as 75 and anywhere in between. you went to 265 because you were right there all the way through and it was difficult for the computer to determine the results. you may be surprised at your results! its done with now, all you can do is wait for your results. stay positive and be strong!!! :) :icon_hug:

I was told by an RN friend of mine (maybe incorrectly?) that the computer will randomly choose a "testee" to be the "control". This unlucky person will have to take all 265 questions no matter what due to the need to make sure that the testing program is working as planned. I know that one of the girls that graduated from my program last year ended up with 265 questions and passed. I wish you the best, stay positive!

I know how you are feeling!! I took it today and the computer went off at 75 questions!!! I study with Kaplan for 2 months and I walked out feeling so defeated!!!! I didn't walk in feeling confident and now these two days are the longest days in my life!!

Hey, Just take a deep breath and breathe! I was in your position on Monday. Thought I was sooo prepared, I walked in to boards monday morning, and I too, was stuck with 265 questions. It was miserable, I walked out of there, and felt like I was an IDIOT! I felt like all my schooling just went down the drain. I was just POSITIVE there was NOO way I could have passed. But......I'm proud to say that I am now an official:heartbeat Registered Nurse:D!!!!!!! It is possible.......!! So take a deep breath! I wish you the best of luck!!:redpinkhe

This is a myth. :)

I know exactly how you feel. The first time I had taken the exam I had all 265 questions. I was really upset when the computer didn't stop at 75 and I think that's what caused my demise there. I totally freaked out and kinda gave up hope at that point. The second time I took the test I got all 265 questions AGAIN. But this time around I didn't focus on the number of questions I was getting. Instead I trained myself into think I was going to get all 265 and honestly during the test I used my ID to cover up the area on the computer where the question number is posted. I just focused on each question as it was given. I didn't think that I passed this one either because I felt like the did worst the second time around. I walked out of there wanting to run off into the woods somewhere and never come back. I was extremely emotional the next few days, but I kept myself busy and sure enough on the 3rd business day I name was posted on the BRN website with RN next to it and my license number. It feels really surreal, but from this if I can pass then I know that you can too. It doesn't matter whether you get 265 or 75 you you just have the same chance of passing.

With 265 questions, you have a 50/50 chance, even the NCLEX officials will tell you that, and like everyone said already, that means you were borderline the whole test and it couldn't make up its mind whether you had gotten more correct than incorrect, but as you know, it cuts off at 265, so it decided after it shut off. but GOOD LUCK! and I hope you do well.
