Biology - literally means the study of life, begining at the cellular level, Chemistry - there is a whole lotta chem going on in your body, and chem really helps when you get into pathophysiology and acid base balance

Outside of the science foundation that those classes give you, there's also the fact that those tend to be challenging courses that require a great deal of study. It gives schools a chance to see how you perform with difficult subject matter before they admit you into a nursing slot.

Well, the obvious answer is that the processes in the human body often boil down to Cytology and Chemistry, two very KEY elements to any nursing education. Not to mention that the study of Chemistry and Biology typically adds to one's critical thinking skills, and ability to manipulate the information and TRULY understand it, instead of simply regurgitating a line you memorized in a text book.

Everything you will be learning in nursing school is based off those 2 sciences...pretty important stuff.
Thanks.

You will see when you take A&P! I took A&P with micro before I took chemistry, and when I took chemistry I wished I had taken it first. It would've been helpful. I've also learned that some of the math/conversion are helpful for drug dosage calculations.
