  1. Even if you are just thinking about going into nursing, APPLY NOW! I don't know where you live but the waitlists state-wide in Colorado are 2+ years. Get the pre-requisites done and you can always change your mind later. I say, GO FOR IT! I'm 25 and will be starting in January after 2 years waiting. I'm acutally a minority, believe it or not; most of my classmates are in their 30's and 40's. Lots of people are considering nursing as a second career choice. Good luck to you!
  2. Just wanted to see if there was anyone attending PPCC now or in the future? I've been going for a few years now and will be in the January 2008 class. :)
  3. Colorado is a great place to live! I'm not sure on the pay though.
  4. If only! No, no jump up for anyone, except if you are military or a military spouse.
  5. I don't recommend commuting! They are dong so much work on the highway lately and when it snows, IT SNOWS! Possibly look into living in Castle Rock, CO, if you can afford it or some suburn of Denver. I've lived in Colorado Springs my whole life, so I definitely know what it's like here. Good luck!
  6. It will all be worth it once you have that degree! :)
  7. We in Colorado have to have a 2.5 minimum with C's and above in all courses.
  8. Hi! I just got my letter on September 6th and it is for the January 2008 class. This is after waiting 2 years... Good luck and be patient! :)
  9. Hi! I live in Colorado so I don't of any schools where you live but I can tell you that phlebotomy was such a great class. We had to stick over 45 patients to get an A and wake up at 3AM to make it to our 4AM clinicals. I'm so gladI did it. Good luck to you!
  10. I would say no to taking chemistry first.
  11. Everything you will be learning in nursing school is based off those 2 sciences...pretty important stuff.
  12. Hello! I got my letter this month that I will be starting the nursing program in January 2008! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I had been on the waitlist since December of 2005. I originally thought it would be another year until I got into the program and that I could take the CNA course and get a little experience under my belt before school started, but that is not the case now. I did do a phlebotomy course and think that helped out a lot! We had to stick over 45 patients to get an A in the course. I also work in the health insurance industry, so I do know some stuff... I've also passed all the A&P's, microbiology, etc. and am now in a Pathophysiology class and Clinical Calculations class. My question is, do you think I will be at a huge disadvantage for not being a CNA first?
